Beautiful Love 2.0
I made a recording with jazz pianist and improvisor extraordinaire, Art Lande. The music is forged by heartache and spiced with dark humor. Hear for yourself at CDBaby. (Longer clips are posted on MySpace.) I hope you'll like what we made.
With minimal rehearsal, we recorded most of songs in one or two takes direct to 2" tape over a couple of afternoons. (No sweat for Art because he's a Grammy nominee, but it was a new and very fulfilling experience for me–all the more so because of our wonderful recording engineer, Cookie Marenco at OTR Studios.) The songs all have fresh arrangements that we worked on together and some of them contain little stories which I scribbled the night before or right before we were about to record them.

"Lazy Afternoon" has just been released as a single for digital download at CD Baby and on iTunes.
"Lazy Afternoon" is the track that created the most excitement because it's such an unusual arrangement of the jazz standard. You'll be able to own it for 99 ¢ or buy it to give to someone who could use 6 minutes of reverie and relaxation. Plus, I have posted a visual track on YouTube to accompany the song.

You want voicings? We've got voicings! Art is known for his jazz voicings. He's got pianists trailing after him in concert venues, sitting on the left side so they can see his hands. You can see them watching closely and making note of his voicings.
Your Opinion Needed
I intend to release more tracks from the "Beautiful Love 2.0" CD as single digital downloads this year. It takes a while and costs money to get the licensing for the cover tunes. Please help me decide which track to make available as a single next by voting in my poll.
